Lynne Brofman

We are thrilled to introduce Lynne Brofman, from Asheville NC, as our first featured Muse whom we believe embodies our ethos of Active Beauty.

Lynne is one bold, beautiful, and dare we say septuagenarian, who is committed to keeping herself moving, and as she likes to say, Keeping things juicy.

Here is Lynne in her own words. We find her joie de vivre contagious; we hope you find her inspiring!

As I reflect on my 76-year journey, I see that some of my life experiences were by design. Some were accidental and others were what the universe put in front of me. There were moments of pure joy, as well as devastating loss.

I have been a wife, mother, and grandmother. I have been a psychiatric social worker, and have been an entrepreneur with several successful businesses. In retirement, I volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem.

During the 1970s and 1980s, I was a mother, wife and career woman working full-time in demanding businesses that I built together with a friend. I thought I had to be a “Supermom”. I am proud to say that I was able to juggle all that my family life and professional life entailed; and at the same time, it is important to acknowledge that I was also always exhausted. A nightly bath was my mental health break – my “me” time.

Having an active social life has always been important to me. My commitment to my friendships, my health, and remaining active are unwavering. However, like many people, because of COVID, this is a transitional time for me. Because family is so far away, friends have become even more important. I have a posse of friends. We are a sisterhood. My girlfriends and I, we hold each other together and we hold each other up.
